Fungal Infections – Toe Nail Infections

Golden Medic®detailed Instruction Sheet specifically for help with:

Fungal Infections – Toe Nail Infections                          Ref: 0

Golden Medic®works best when it is used as soon as the problem is noticed.

There is NO quick fix with nail fungus. It can take up to a year of continuous treatment to eliminate.

·      It is imperativeto thoroughly clean the affected area, washing off any dirt or previously applied creams, lotions or medicines. Any remnants of these may react badlywith this powder and may become irritant and possibly painful.

·      Scrub clean with soap and water, then rinse with clean water and pat dry with paper tissue.

There are two types of Nail infections:

·      For those under the nail a) Cut the toenail as short as possible without causing bleeding, in order for the powder to be able to get to the site of the fungal spores.

·      For those where the nail becomes yellow and blistered b) File the top of the nail with a disposable nail file to roughen it and allow the powder to get to the site of the fungal spores.

First Treatment:

·      Tap out or Roll-On small quantities of Golden Medic powder directly onto/into the affected area.

·      The Liquid Roll on form of the powder is particularly effective for this application.

·      Cover the entire toenail, and where possible under the toenail, and the surrounding area with a good layer of the powder.

·      Work the powder in under the nail using a toothpick so that the powder can directly contact the tissue underneath.

·      Avoidapplying any covering or dressing as the powder works best when dry and open to the air.

·      If you must cover the area, wrap a folded tissue round the toe. Remove this as soon as feasible.

·      There is no residual action from the powder after it is removed, so cover the area well with Golden Medic daily.

·      The analgesic effect (pain relieving) works after a few minutes, if this does not happen within 30 minutes, add some more powder and attempt to get it more into the affected area.

Infection of the toe-nails (and foot)

Continuous Treatment:

·       Do not remove old powder. Just add more powder as required, at least 3 x daily.

·      There is no residual action from the powder after it is removed; so keep the area continually well covered with Golden Medic®.

·      Once a week scrub the toe with soap and water to clear out any dead cells under the nail.

·      Fungal infections can be very resistant as the spores can remain for some time after it appears to be cleared.

·      Continue with the treatment for up to a year - even if it appears to have healed.

Prevention– Always have Golden Medic®close by and on hand!

·       Applying a good layer of Golden Medic® as soon as possible after detection will speed up the healing process.

·       Dry the whole of your body well - all the time, especially any affected areas.

·       A good soaking with vinegar can often avert a fungal infection from taking hold.

·       To keep feet free from fungal infections just puff a small amount of powder into the toe of your socks, and/or into the toe of your shoe, each day.
